Launcher catalog

List your game in the Depot launcher's catalog so players can find it there, and know when it shows.

Besides your store page, you can list a game in the Depot launcher's catalog. Players who browse the catalog in the launcher can then get the game there, without opening your page first.

Listing is opt-in and off by default. It is a sub-option of Who can get it.

When a listed game shows

A listed game shows in the catalog only while all of these are true:

  • Its store page is published as public. Unlisted pages and drafts don't show.
  • Who can get it is Free game or Key only.
  • For a free game, the base package is turned on.
  • The game is not archived.

Invite-only games can't be listed. If you switch a listed game to Invite only, or unpublish its page, it leaves the catalog. Its listing setting stays, so it comes back when the page is public again with Free or Key only.

Changes reach the catalog within about a minute.

What players do in the launcher

  • Free game: players select Get it free in the launcher to claim the game with their Depot account, then install it.
  • Key only: the install screen asks the player for a key.

Listing never gives anyone the game on its own. Players still need to own it, by claiming it, redeeming a key or being granted it.

List or unlist a game

Open the game's Store page tab. Under Who can get it, turn on Also list it in the Depot launcher's catalog.

This switch saves at once. You don't need to publish. It is turned off for invite-only and archived games.

The catalog uses the game's name, art and description from its Settings tab. You can also set the description with depot game update --game my-game --description "...".
