Branding and media

Add your hero, cover, icon and logo, set the page colour, and add a hero loop, a trailer and a gallery.

The top of your store page is yours: your hero art, your logo, your colour and, if you have one, a short muted loop. Depot keeps its own look out of the way.

Depot checks every image from its bytes. It accepts PNG, JPEG and WebP. It refuses SVG and anything else. Videos must be MP4 (H.264). Depot does not transcode or resize anything, so upload files at the size you want shown.

Store art

Store art belongs to the game. It appears on the store page, on your studio page and in the Depot launcher.

ArtWhere it showsRecommendedAccepted
HeroThe top of the page, behind the title, and your game's card on your studio page.1920×620About 3:1 (2.5:1 to 3.6:1), 1280 to 3840 px wide, up to 8 MB.
CoverPortrait art. The page shows it when a player gets the game.600×9002:3 portrait, 300 to 2400 px wide, up to 4 MB.
IconA small square image.512×512Square, 128 to 2048 px wide, up to 1 MB.
LogoYour game's wordmark, shown instead of its name over the hero.1200×400Transparent PNG or WebP (not JPEG), 1:2 to 8:1, 200 to 2400 px wide, up to 1 MB.

If you have no hero, the page uses the cover behind the title. Link previews in chat apps and social posts use the cover or the hero.

Open the game's Settings tab and find Store art. Upload, replace or remove each image there. Art changes show on the live page without publishing again.

Page colour

You can give the page your own colour. Depot keeps its hue and adjusts its lightness so buttons and links stay readable in both light and dark mode. With no colour, the page uses Depot's neutral colours.

On the Store page tab, find How the page looks and Page colour. If you have uploaded a hero, Depot suggests colours picked from it. You can also choose your own, or No colour. A sample shows how the colour looks in light and dark. Save the draft and publish to apply it.

Accessibility notes

Accessibility notes show in their own section on the page. Add up to 10 short notes of up to 60 characters each.

On the Store page tab, fill in Accessibility, comma separated.

Hero loop

The hero loop is a few seconds of gameplay that plays muted, on repeat, behind your title.

  • MP4, up to 30 seconds and 40 MB.
  • At least 640×360 is recommended. Depot refuses videos smaller than 320×180.
  • It plays only while it is on screen, and players can pause it.
  • Players who prefer reduced motion, or who have data saver turned on, see the hero art instead.
  • Until it plays, the page shows the video's poster frame, or the hero if there is no poster.

On the Store page tab, under How the page looks, select Upload a loop. The dashboard checks the file, uploads it and captures a poster frame from it. Save the draft and publish to show it.

Trailer

The trailer shows first in the page's media viewer, before your screenshots and clips. It plays only when a player presses play. You have two options:

  • Upload an MP4, up to 10 minutes and 500 MB.
  • Link a YouTube or Vimeo video. The page loads the player only when someone presses play, so nothing loads from YouTube or Vimeo before that. The embed comes from youtube-nocookie.com or player.vimeo.com.

On the Store page tab, find Trailer and gallery. Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link, or select Or upload a video. Save the draft and publish.

The gallery holds screenshots and video clips in the order you choose. Each item can have a caption of up to 140 characters. Captions are optional, but they help players and screen readers.

ItemRecommendedAccepted
Screenshot1920×1080PNG, JPEG or WebP, landscape (1.2:1 to 2.4:1), 960 to 3840 px wide, up to 6 MB.
ClipAt least 640×360MP4, up to 10 minutes and 500 MB.

A page can show up to 12 screenshots and up to 20 gallery items in total. A game can have up to 12 uploaded videos, counting the loop, the trailer and clips.

On the Store page tab, under Trailer and gallery, select Add screenshot or Add a clip. Type a caption next to each item, and use the arrows to reorder or remove items. Save the draft and publish.

Posters

A poster is the still frame shown before a video plays. The dashboard captures one from the video when you upload it. With the CLI, pass --poster with an image.

A poster is a PNG, JPEG or WebP, 480 to 3840 px wide, up to 4 MB. Match the video's shape.

Drafts and the live page

Screenshots, videos, captions, the colour and the loop are part of the draft. The live page changes only when you publish. If you remove an item from the draft, the live page keeps showing it until you publish again. See Store pages.
